Ramazan Bayrami, Safe Steps Fundraiser till 12th May
Ramazan Bayrami, Safe Steps Fundraiser till 12th May
Story
Safe Steps played a very important part in my journey of recovery through leaving a very difficult situation in my life. With one phone call, they provided the resources and advice I needed to take the first steps to get help and see that there was a future outside of the situation I was in.
Ramazan Bayrami (Ramadan) is a special month in Turkey, it's an important month of giving, sharing and recognising what we are grateful for. People participate in 'Fitre Zekat' also know as Zakat al-Fitr in Islam, which refers to giving to charity and helping those that need the community's support, especially during bayram.
I would sincerely appreciate my friends and family's assistance in donating, until the end of Ramadan, to Safe Steps. Showing love and kindness to those that really need it right now, who are going through the hardships of domestic violence. Safe Steps is a Victorian based provider of front line aid, they're the first place anyone can call if they have a concern about a loved one, a friend or themselves to get immediate guidance. They provide emergency accommodation, resources, webchat, and a 24/7 phone line.
Something that was personally vital to me, was their 'Understanding Family Violence' resources, critical to someone at the start of their journey trying to find answers. When I didn't know how to make heads or tails of everything, they helped me see a way out of where I was.
If you have something to give to those that are struggling right now to make it to the next day, I would sincerely appreciate if you could give generously and/or share the fundraiser. Either way, during Bayram its important to make sure we're grateful, show love and kindness to the people in our lives and the community we live in.
Thank you for taking the time to read and engage with my fundraiser. Bayram kutlu olsun.
Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
