Mel's Sober October STEPS4CHANGE Challenge!
Story
*FUNDRAISER HAS OFFICIALLY CONCLUDED*
TW: Family violence content
On average at least 1 woman a week is killed by a partner or former partner here in Australia.
This month I will be taking part in Sober October to help raise funds for SAFE STEPS Victoria's 24/7 family violence response centre for women and young children experiencing or afraid of family violence. A cause very close to my heart.
I'm aiming to raise $500 by the end of the month because now more than ever SAFE STEPS need funding to provide essential life saving services to women and children escaping immediate risk of serious injury, or death due to violence in the home.
If you can and want to help, please click on the donate button and make a gift today (I'd love to have you on board!). Your support will help women and children to escape abuse, recover from trauma and live free from violence.
Thank you again for your support.

safe steps Family Violence Response Centre
Safe Steps is the only 24/7 family violence response centre in Victoria, providing a state-wide entry point for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence. Safe Steps delivers programs at a state and national level. Our services include information and referral, crisis response, specialist family violence risk assessment, safety planning, andaccess to supported crisis accommodation. Our practice is trauma and violence-informed and guided by evidence. We provide services to all victim-survivors and recognise that most of our work is dedicated to the needs of women and children, which reflects the gendered nature of domestic and family violence.
